About

Kensal Green (All Souls') Cemetery contains burials of both wars. A Visitor Information Panel was recently installed to provide information about the war casualties buried here. This is one of many panels to be erected to help raise awareness of First and Second World War graves in the UK. Half of the 473 first World War graves form a plot in the south-west section of the cemetery, the rest form small groups or are scattered throughtout the cemetery.

Rutland and The Battle of the Somme

More than 90 Rutland soldiers died in the Battle of the Somme which lasted from 1 July 1916 until the middle of November. Today they lie in cemeteries across the old battlefield in northern France or are remembered among the 72,000 names on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme. By using our interactive map, you can find out what happened to them.
