WAIT Herbert Alfred Vincent

Known information

Herbert Albert Vincent Wait was a pupil at Oakham School between 1910 and 1915 and then went on to Sandhurst. He was the son of Vincent Wait and his wife, of 45 Eastern Avenue, Reading. Herbert became a Lieutenant in 2nd Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) and was killed in action on 2 December 1917 during the Battle of Passchendaele serving with D Company. He was 19 years old. Herbert is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Panel 105, as well as in Oakham School Chapel.
