Albert was born at Wing in 1896 and was a butcher before the war. He enlisted on 5 November 1914 and joined the 2/5th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment but never served abroad. Albert died from sickness at Dunstable Hospital on 18 July 1915. He is buried in Luton Church Burial Ground where his headstone has the simple inscription 'At Rest.' He is remembered on the war memorial inside the church at Wing along with his brother. Albert was 19 years old.
