Rutland Remembers launched one month ago today. And today we had a space at the Mobilisation event at Kendrew Barracks where we could meet many of you who have used the website and introduce the site to many new people. We must say a huge thank you to all of you who have engaged with the site. Thanks to our users, we have identified some Rutland soldiers who died and have not so far been recognised in their communities for their sacrifice – look at the Stooke brothers for instance. And we have new information and photographs on soldiers we have aready known about. So one month on there’s some definite progress. The Mobilisation event has also shown there are other research projects going on across the County and we want to link up with them all. That way we will collectively have the most complete record of Rutland soldiers who served and died that has ever existed.
