Today we’ve introduced a new advanced search facility when searching for the Fallen. It enables users to search by regiment, date or year of birth, age and in various other fields as well. It also tracks which soldier or location has been visited (131 so far) and where visits are still required to meet our aim of visiting every grave or memorial during the centenary years of the First World War. By using the advance search, all kinds of statistics can be quickly brought up. For instance, it shows the regiment with the most Rutland soldiers was – not surprsingly – the Leicestershires with 152. And how 1918 was the year with the greatest number of Rutland casualties – 169. There were two 16 year olds who died during the war, two aged 17 and eleven aged 18. We hope you enjoy using the new feature.
